Not Just A Memory (c) Kate Thompson 2008 (for drug babies and their moms)

She was thiry-one and doing drugs
And running wild
When through a haze on a summer day
She felt the kick of her child
She couldn't believe it had happened again
Let alone that it was twins
She would give everything this time to cross that line, where

Life was more than living
With a needle in her vein
But could she keep on giving
All her strength so she would claim
The life that she was destined for
The years where she could be
A child of God forever-more
Not just a memory.

At week thiry-one they were born
Just in time
Tiny little girls into this world
Fighting for their life
They just fit the span of her hand
But God had a master plan
They would give everything this time to cross that line, where

Live was more than living
With a needle in their veins
So they would keep on giving
All their strength so they could claim
The life that they were destined for
The years where they would be
A child of God forever-more
Not just a memory

She tried so hard played every card
To kick the past
For the babies she created
She tried not to crash
But when reality strikes an addicts life
Was she was lost and they were fine
She ran this time from trying to cross that line, where

Life was more than living
With a needle in her vein
She couldn't keep on giving
All her strength so she would claim
The life that she was destined for
The years where she could be
A child of God forever-more
Not just a memory

Two little girls live in this world
With a Mom and Dad
And a family where they can be
Everything He planned
